Brown's mum loves Rihanna

Chris Brown's mother "loves Rihanna like a daughter".

Joyce Hawkins hasn't seen the 'Umbrella' singer since her son assaulted her in February, and she claims she misses her every day.

Joyce said: "I love Rihanna. She's like a daughter. She became family to us. She's spent Christmas with us for the last two years. I miss her a lot."

Chris attacked Rihanna in his car as they left a pre-Grammy Awards party, repeatedly punching her in the face and biting her arms.

He later pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to six months of community service, 12 months of domestic violence counselling and five years probation.

The judge also issued a restraining order which requires him to stay at least 100 yards from Rihanna for five years.

Chris - who recently admitted he was still in love with Rihanna - said the punishment was "fair".

But the rapper was not so pleased with talk show host Oprah Winfrey's Rihanna-inspired episode on domestic violence that aired earlier this year, claiming he found it insulting.

He complained to People magazine: "I commend Oprah on being like, 'This is a problem,' but it was a slap in my face. I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school.

"She could have been more helpful, like, 'OK, I'm going to help both of these people out.' "

A spokesman for Winfrey replied: "Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school, but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counselling he needs."

Lady GaGa denies hermaphrodite rumours

Lady Gaga has branded claims she is a hermaphrodite "ridiculous".

The 'Poker Face' singer furiously denied rumours she has both male and female genitalia, insisting the speculation has gone beyond a joke.

The 23-year-old star told Australia's Matt and Jo radio show: "It's too low brow for me to even discuss. I've made fun of it before but to talk about it is ridiculous."

Gaga - whose real name is Stefani Germanotta - has previously made light of the claims, jokingly posting on a blog: "I have both male and female genitalia, but I consider myself a female."

Meanwhile, the outrageous star has revealed she spends her free time watching her own concerts on YouTube.

She said: "I like to watch my performances sometimes. I'm always trying to improve on choreography and the stage shows. I like to watch the lighting.

"I often argue with my lighting designer on the show - as much as I like to light the show for the room, it's important to light the show and design the sound for YouTube.

"In truth, lots of my fans can't make it to my shows in Israel or Germany or in Paris, so they go online to watch them."

Boy George working on new album

BOY GEORGE has reportedly revealed that he is working on a new album.

The former Culture Club star said that he is compiling a collection of cover songs which reflect his "personal journey and experiences".

Speaking to People, he said: "[I'm choosing songs that] feel [as if] it was written for you and these are the songs I'm planning to record.

"I'm choosing songs that speak to me and have lyrics that reflect my personal journey and experiences."

The singer, whose real name is George O'Dowd, also explained that he is scouring the internet for potential collaborators on upcoming dance track 'Yes We Can'.

He added: "I feel it's a very refreshing idea. I'm pretty excited to find artists through Talenthouse and see what people do with my song. Absolutely, I can't wait."
